Unlikely events is a series of video loops that blends green screen stock footage of actors, with fictional animated environments, an animated tribute to the written pieces of Daniil Kharms.

Daniil Kharms 1905 – 1942
In both his personality and his work, Kharms was peculiar mixture of conservatism and radicalism. He was a revolutionary by temperament—he wanted to shock, to destabilize, to reinvent.
Kharms was the founder of the Oberiu collective; their goal
was to create art that addresses a level of reality beneath what they called in their manifesto “‘mundane’ or ‘everyday’ logic.” They did not want to undermine classical literary language and means of representation; rather, they wanted to use it to create an art of the irrational, to provide access to a world beyond logic and perceptible reality.

BAM Cinema is a mobile screening programme that features visually stunning loops. A curated screening programme that transverses supernatural landscapes, alien worlds, retro dreamscapes, future fractal universes and beyond.
This tantalizing screening showcases new forms and hybrids of moving image, creating a free port for authentic filmmaking.
The shorts explore history, politics, consumer behavior and popular culture.
